The History of “Tweedy” – The Tweed Bait Logo

“Tweedy,” the iconic Tweed Bait logo, has a special story that dates back more than 50 years.

Raymond Lederhose, the founder of Tweed Bait, had a daughter named Julie who loved drawing cartoons and sketching characters. One day, Mr. Lederhose noticed Julie drawing a cartoon of a man wearing a skipper’s hat. Impressed by the character, he suggested adding a fishing rod to the drawing — and with that simple idea, “Tweedy” was born.

Mr. Lederhose adopted Julie’s creation as the official Tweed Bait logo, and remarkably, the design has remained virtually unchanged ever since. Today, “Tweedy” continues to represent the proud history, tradition, and personality behind the Tweed Bait name.
