Design Story:

This design represents the ‘blue bone grouper’ sacred to the Aboriginal people on the south coast. The flags are our peoples both Torres Strait and Aboriginal.

The blue background of the design represents the ocean (Gadhu) and the walking tracks show where our people walked over rocks to source this sacred fish, and the meeting places where we would sit around our bush table, eat and sing songs about the grouper. – Story by Richard George Campbell
